There is a lot happening at the Historical Society these days. All of our buildings have recently been painted, thanks to a grant from the New Jersey Historic Trust-1772 Foundation. The new paint job will add a luster to the historic buildings which they haven’t seen since they were new, over 150 years ago.
In addition, if you haven’t visited lately, the Abraham Abraham Hoy House is plastered on the inside and decorated with antiques to provide a real look at how people lived in the mid-nineteenth century. The story of how the Hoy House, an example of a stack house, came to be on our property and restored is a great one. Please check it out in the accompanying article and pictures. All in all, there is a lot going on at the Society. Visit us soon.
